the blackwood Experience
Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. You've spent years dreaming about it and months planning it. You look beautiful and you feel amazing. You want the day to go off without a hitch. Without fear that you hired the wrong team. Without regret that you did. We understand. We're here for you. We'll let you know what to expect during your event, provide you with a wedding photography plan that allows us to capture the story of your day with the attention it deserves, and guide you through the whole process. When your wedding is complete and your new life begins, you'll have beautiful images that let you relive how stunning you looked and how wonderful you felt to enjoy with your new family.
~ Tip ~
During the speeches segment of your wedding reception, stand up as a couple and in a spot where all of your guests can see you.
This also makes for better photos, as table decor won't be obstructing the view and your pictures won't include plates of half-eaten meals.
A Complete Client Experience
During our consultation, we'll meet for coffee (or cocktails!), get to know each other a bit better, and see if we're a good fit for each other. Once you decide on your coverage options, we'll provide you with a detailed guide for your fine art wedding photography.
The Wedding Day
Our approach to photographing your wedding is to remain unobtrusive and discreet during your ceremony and celebration. We always work with two photographers and a coordinator, so you will always get the best possible images with no detail forgotten.
The Design Session
The wedding is done. You've returned from your honeymoon as newlyweds to begin your new life. This is when you sit down with us to review your wedding photography, we design your bespoke heirloom wedding album, and you select stunning images to hang on your walls.
Kevin Patrick Robbins
Blackwood Studios builds on Kevin’s years of experience photographing fashion editorials and magazine portraits. As the primary photographer for Hamilton Magazine since 2014, Kevin has photographed dozens of business personalities, celebrities, musicians, models, and really amazing people. He believes that everyone is photogenic.
Kevin got his start in photography at a young age but began honing his skills in university working for the school newspaper. His journalism and photojournalism background lead to work as a photo editor and designer at a daily newspaper in Niagara Falls. After three years in the bullpen, he stepped away from the always serious world of the newsroom and opened an improv comedy school in Toronto, the Impatient Theatre Co., which he ran for 12 years.
Improvisation not only provided him with an ability to get people to open up quickly, laugh, and smile, but it has trained him to think fast, solve problems and remain calm under pressure. Next to his understanding of light, Kevin credits his years of experience teaching improvisation as his greatest strengths as a professional photographer.
